The HD Scholarship program was created to offer financial assistance to local students, in the memory of Henry Davison after the closure of the HD Youth Center.

The HD Youth Center

In 1997 Henry Davison established the Henry Davison Youth Center which provided a safe haven for young people and food for the needy until closing in 2019

Scholarship Details

Five $4,000 scholarships are awarded each academic year. Students may reapply for subsequent awards throughout their time in education.

Annual application deadline is April 1st

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

Selection of awards is based on a holistic overview of the following factors: financial need/hardship, special circumstances, community involvement, academic performance, and future plans/goals.

The scholarship is open to high school seniors as well as anyone currently active in education. This includes graduate students as well as individuals involved in an educational program outside of a traditional college/university.

Applicants should meet the following criteria in order to be considered eligible:

- Have applied and been admitted to an accredited university, college, community college, trade school, or school of higher learning

- Attended a Linn County high school

- Is a citizen of the United States
